Give Some Hope, Get a Bargain! Yard Sale Fundraiser

On August 1, 2009, the Cedar Foundation USA hosted a Fundraising Yard Sale at the Jiffy Lube on 221 in Forest, VA. We were blessed by great crowds, beautiful summer weather and fun volunteers. The event raised over $800 to be used to improve the lives of the orphans we support.

Enjoy our pictures and be sure to sign up for our newsletter to keep informed about upcoming events!

We were on the receiving end of so many people's generous giving. This small pile of toys, shown here with Secretary-Treasurer Cindy Hancock-Carden, represents a small fraction of the goods received. Big thanks to everyone who gave!

Rebekah Meadows, Vice President, generously gave her time and energy into sorting, recording and organizing the donated goods. Creative Family Solutions (a local human services agency) was generous enough to allow us to store our truckloads of items in their warehouse for weeks prior to the event. Special thanks to them!

If it weren't for our volunteers, none of this would have been possible. Here's CF USA volunteer, Adam Bolick, practicing his selling skills as we sorted, priced and packed all of the items. Billy the Big Mouth Bass! We did a lot of work and had so much fun doing it!

The day of the Yard Sale! Beautiful weather and beautiful ladies! Left to right: Megan Zinck- President; Marci - volunteer; Rebekah Meadows - Vice President.

In addition to her lovely modeling skills (made evident in the photo at left), Marci was a great SALESPERSON, convincing people to buy more, spend more, give more! She was a real asset and we're so glad that Adam introduced us.
